Gateway Regional Summer 2022 Enrichment Camps
- ACE Camp - Open to ALL current and incoming Gators in grades 7-12 in the 22-23 school year. Credit recovery options are available.
- Advanced Academics Camp - Open to all Honors/ Dual Credit / AP students in grades 7-12 in the 22-23 school year.
- G2C Camp - Open to ALL current and incoming 7th-9th grade Gators in the 22-23 school year to learn more about our CTE courses.
- STARS Camp - Invite-only camp to build confidence, relationships, and strategies for success.

School Services during all Summer Programs
- Transportation is provided. Students can request transportation when they register.
- The school library will be open for summer reading programs and book circulation.
- The school nurse will be on site.
- The Comfort Closet will be available for students who need to access it.
- Snacks/lunch will be provided. (No beverages, students have access to the water-filling stations.)
WHAT should I bring to Camp?
- Your Chromebook and charger (if you're a new Gator, we'll have loaners available!)
- A fillable water bottle (beverages for lunch/snack are not provided!)

ACE CAMP
WHAT is ACE Camp?
Each camp week, students will choose two classes to attend per day. If students attend more than one week, there will be fresh classes to enjoy! After students sign up, Dr. Mount will reach out and schedule your classes!
Current Gateway Gators and incoming Gateway Gators are welcome to attend!
WHY should I attend?
- ACE Camp will give you an opportunity to improve your skills, build knowledge, and practice good work habits.
- ACE Camp will focus on building background/prior knowledge, learning strategies, metacognition, filling any learning gaps, and accelerating learning.
- Class sizes will be small to maximize personalized learning, group work, and collaboration.
- Students of different grade levels will participate together, giving you the chance to make friends and get to know different Gators.
WHAT IF I need credit recovery?
WHEN is ACE Camp?
- Summer Acceleration Camps will run for three weeks - July 11-14, July 18-21, and July 25-28. Each week is Monday - Thursday. There are no programs on Fridays.
- Summer Acceleration Camps will run from 8:30-11:30.
- Each week will be a different theme with focus on skills and standards. Students will enroll in each week separately. Students may enroll in multiple courses and multiple weeks.
- Students are expected to participate for the full week in which they are enrolled. Failure to attend will result in being dropped from the camp.
ACE Camp Topics and Teachers
ELA
- Written Out Loud Writer's Camp - this session will run for all 3 weeks. At the end of the session, every student will have written or contributed to writing a book! Students will receive a hard copy of their publication!
- Mrs. Irwin will run sessions on designing your own escape room, creating a nature poetry portfolio, and how literature can help you escape a zombie apocalypse!
- Mrs. Evans will run sessions exploring the literary genre of horror and the supernatural, writing the essay that gets your college application accepted, and true crime podcasting.
Spanish
- Sra. Bittner will run Spanish sessions at the introductory and intermediate levels to boost your conversational skills.
Social Studies
- Mr. Kennedy will run sessions exploring WWII battle simulations, diving into the connections between history and data, and developing your geography skills as you sail around the world with a crew of pirates.
- Ms. Warrington will run sessions connecting young adult fiction to real history, explaining the conflict in Ukraine, and exploring the Titanic.
Science
- Ms. Boisvert will run sessions looking at what makes us us (genetics and DNA), the impact humans have on our environments, and the science that's all around us, everyday.
- Ms. Marcolongo will run sessions on your nerves of steel, constructing Rube Goldberg and simple machines, and take a trip to Jupiter!
Math
- Mr. Stocker will demonstrate the math behind your favorite sports, make math arts and crafts, and play basketball knockout!
- Ms. Scully will help you develop video game characters with math, explore fun math activities in Desmos, and use math to design rooms and homes.
ADVANCED ACADEMICS CAMP
WHAT is ADVANCED ACADEMICS Camp?
Gateway Gators enrolled in an Honors / Dual Credit / or AP Course in the 22-23 school year are invited to attend. Sessions will include students from grades 7-12.
WHY should I attend Advanced Academics Camp?
- Advanced Academics Camp will help provide high-achieving students with the opportunity to improve their cross-curricular skills, executive functioning, cooperation, and team-building.
- Advanced Academics Camp will focus on building cross-curricular reading, writing, analysis, and logic skills that are important to success in Honors, Dual Credit, and AP courses as well as in college. Students will also build executive functioning skills like time management, self-advocacy, cooperation, and teamwork. Class sizes will be small to maximize personalized learning, group work, and collaboration.
- Students of different grade levels will participate together, giving you the chance to make friends and get to know different Gators.
WHEN is Advanced Academics Camp?
- Advanced Academics Camp will run for one week - July 11-14.
- Advanced Academics Camp will run from 8:30-11:30.
- Students are expected to participate for the full week in which they are enrolled. Failure to attend will result in being dropped from the camp.
Advanced Academics Camp Topics and Teachers

Gateway 2 Careers Camp
WHAT is Gateway 2 Careers Camp?
Gateway Gators in grades 7-9th grade in 2022-2023 are welcome to attend!
WHY should I attend Gateway 2 Careers Camp?
- You'll get to know different options for electives and CTE pathways available to you as a high school student.
- You'll explore different areas of interest and develop talents that could shape your future career path!
- Students of different grade levels will participate together, giving you the chance to make friends and get to know different Gators.
WHEN is Gateway 2 Careers Camp?
- Gateway 2 Careers Camp will run for ONE week - July 25-28.
- Gateway 2 Careers Camp will run from 8:30-11:30.
- Students are expected to participate for the full week in which they are enrolled. Failure to attend will result in being dropped from the camp.
Gateway 2 Careers Topics and Teachers
- Construction/Engineering/and Manufacturing with Mr. Better and the NE Carpenter's Union - Explore the career areas of construction, engineering, and manufacturing with Mr. Better. Students will learn safety, and job areas within each field, and will participate in hands-on opportunities.
- Culinary Arts with Mrs. Lucia-Burns and a dietician - Students will work with our Chef to explore and develop culinary skills anyone can use in the kitchen. Whether you have a little or a lot of experience with cooking there are opportunities for everyone.
- Video Production with Mr. Pridy and a producer - Interested in video and television? Learn to create videos, advertisements, and television production from in front and behind the cameras in Gateway's state-of-the-art television studio.
- Aviation and Drones with Mrs. Broadbelt and aviation pilots - Be a part of the next level of sky exploration using drones and aviation. Students will learn how drones are being used in today's world, career areas available as well as an introduction to Gateway's plane currently being built. Interested students can continue during the school year in our Aviation club as well.
S. T. A. R. S. Camp
WHAT is S. T. A. R. S. Camp?
S.T.A.R.S. is an interactive camp that will focus on using positive social and emotional skills building to help encourage student leaders here at Gateway. Camp Staff will work in large and small groups to create a fun, engaging, and interactive experience. Leadership is built on skill at a time!
WHEN is S. T. A. R. S. Camp?
- S. T. A. R. S. Camp will run for ONE week - July 18-21.
- Camp will run from 8:30-11:30.
- Students are expected to participate for the full week in which they are enrolled. Failure to attend will result in being dropped from the camp.
